Despite its relatively undefined stature, the game did get in to the first ever poker tournament in the second annual gambling fraternity convention that was held in 1969. The following year the convention became known as the World Series of Poker and was moved to Binions Horseshoe Casino, Las Vegas and the next year, journalist Tom Thackrey suggested the tournaments main event be no limit Texas Holdem. Well, that certainly was a milestone for the history of Texas Holdem Poker.
